Ms Lyn Brown MP  is the Labour MP for West Ham, and has been an MP continuously since 5 May 2005. Most recently she has served as Shadow Minister (Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs).

Since her election in 2005, Ms Brown has campaigned for a Living Wage for all, for the West Ham constituency to receive inner London funding for its inner city problems and for West Ham to reap the benefits of the 2012 London Olympic Games.

She has held several important appointments such as Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Minister for Local Government and Community Cohesion, Assistant Government Whip, Opposition Whip, Shadow Communities Minister, Shadow Fire Minister, and Shadow Policing Minister as part of the Shadow Home Office team.

During the 2018 Annual Labour Party Conference, Chair Dr Maurizio Bragagni OBE had the opportunity to introduce to Ms Brown the Tratos-led initiative for Safer Structures, which received her full support followed by her signature of the petition calling on the UK Government for stricter cable regulations for safer homes and buildings across the UK.
